NASHVILLE- August 2, 2007- Tim McGraw has added his emotional live performance of "If You're Reading This" on the Academy of Country Music Awards this past May to his smash album Let It Go.
The song became an official radio single in June.
"If You're Reading This," written by McGraw and the Warren Brothers, was a surprise performance withheld from all but a few key people. The ACM's held their first closed rehearsal as McGraw orchestrated the details of the presentation. The song was performed as a tribute to the families of fallen hero's and country radio stations immediately began to play the live version which dominated YouTube and other live sites. McGraw team members worked with the label and the ACM's to secure the rights to the recording and a newly mastered version was serviced to radio and is now included in new pressings of LET IT GO.
McGraw is having another "entertainer of the year" type of year - he is the most played radio artist and the top selling artist for the first 6 months of the 2007. His GREATEST HITS album maintains its hold as the #1 catalog album of all genres and LET IT GO continues its run in the country top five having already achieved platinum status, as well as previously topping both the pop and country album charts.
McGraw will wrap the immensely successful "Soul2Soul Tour 2007" next weekend where he and wife Faith Hill look to establish a new record for a multi-year tour run and play to over 1.7 million fans.
